Role Description:
The Fractional VP of Market Access and Reimbursement will lead strategies to secure coverage, coding, and payment for Theta Neurotech’s wearable EEG solution in the U.S. healthcare system. This Fractional, hybrid role in Chicago, IL involves developing and executing payer engagement plans, including outreach to commercial insurers, Medicare, Medicaid, and key health systems. The role includes building economic value propositions, guiding health economic and outcomes research, and overseeing the development of pricing, reimbursement pathways, and policy dossiers. The VP will collaborate closely with clinical, regulatory, commercial, and product teams to align market access strategies with clinical evidence and launch plans. Day-to-day activities include leading cross-functional meetings, managing external consultants, monitoring policy and reimbursement trends, and preparing executive-level updates and recommendations.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated expertise in market access, health economics, and reimbursement strategy for medical devices, diagnostics, or digital health solutions. Strong experience engaging payers, providers, and health systems, including negotiation of coverage, coding, and payment pathways. Proficiency in developing value stories, economic models, and evidence plans that support favorable coverage decisions. Solid understanding of U.S. healthcare financing, including commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and relevant regulatory frameworks. Proven ability to work cross-functionally with clinical, regulatory, commercial, and product teams in a fast-paced, early-stage environment. Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, written communication, and presentation skills. Prior leadership experience in market access or reimbursement at a medtech, biotech, or health tech company; epilepsy or neurology experience is a plus. Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., health policy, health economics, business, public health, or related discipline) or equivalent practical experience.
