Summary:
The Receptionist/Cashier is primarily responsible for accurately processing customer payments, handling cash and credit card transactions, and supporting parts dealership processes. This position also serves as the first point of contact for customers by providing professional reception services, answering phones, directing inquiries, and assisting with administrative duties to ensure smooth daily operations and an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Greets customers warmly and professionally upon arrival and ensures a positive customer experience.
Answers incoming telephone calls, responds to inquiries, and directs calls to the appropriate department or team member.
Accurately receives, processes, and reconciles cash, check, credit card, and other customer payments in accordance with company procedures.
Scans, files, and maintains invoices and other dealership records.
Processes customer payments and assists with invoice and related documentation.
Maintains a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
Supports daily administrative operations and provides general clerical assistance.
Performs other duties assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of receptionist or customer service experience (automotive industry a plus)
- Strong basic math and cash-handling skills, with the ability to accurately process payments, make changes, reconcile receipts, and perform basic calculations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Professional demeanor and customer-first attitude
Physical Demands:
Sitting/Standing: Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer or answering phones. Occasional standing and walking are required to assist customers or retrieve documents.
Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, handling paperwork, and operating office equipment (e.g., phone, printer, scanner, payments).Lifting/Carrying: Occasionally lift and carry items up to 20 pounds, such as office supplies, small packages, or promotional materials.
Reaching/Bending: Regular reaching at or below shoulder level to access files, supplies, or equipment. Occasional bending or stooping to retrieve items from lower drawers or cabinets.
Vision/Hearing: Must be able to read printed materials and computer screens and hear and respond to customer inquiries in person and over the phone.
