About the role
Co-founder/CTO Opportunity This is an equity based opportunity, no salary at the beginning. Are you keen to launch a new venture? Don't apply if not :)A-ha! Ready to disrupt recruitment? We're ambi.careers – not your average recruitment agency. We're building a talent marketplace and other AI powered recruitment tools, to connect brilliant professionals with startups and scaleups that are changing the game. No BS here. After years in executive recruitment and building startups from scratch, we're sick of the empty promises, cookie-cutter approaches, and soul-crushing corporate speak that plagues this industry. We're combining cutting-edge tech with real human insight to create something that actually works for our clients. What We've Built So Far A working AI-powered sourcing tool Real jobs, candidates, and data flowing through the system Early version of our market insights module A talent marketplace and job board creator we already run for VC funds A lean and validated roadmap for real client impact Real users using this every week
What We're Looking For:
We're seeking a CTO Co-Founder who wants to build real product, not just ideas. You'll lead technical development and help shape the product — while keeping things simple, lean, and focused on real value.
You can freelance elsewhere in the beginning. There's no salary at this stage — but there's equity, ownership, and freedom.
You're Probably A Fit If You:
- Are hands-on with code (especially Python, APIs, AI integrations)
- Have practical experience using AI (e.g. LLMs, Gemini, scraping, automations)
- Know how to build lean backend-first MVPs (FastAPI, Streamlit, etc.)Enjoy building things people use — fast, smart, and without BSWant equity and money from a real, potential bootstrapped product
- See yourself scaling this with us (even slowly at first)
- Tech Stack (Current & Expected)
- Python (FastAPI or Flask)
- Streamlit for UIGoogle Gemini API (we're open to changing LLM providers)
- PostgreSQL or SQLiteBubble would be niceAPIs in general
- Web Crawlers
- Advanced scraping (LinkedIn public pages, job boards)
- Render, Railway, etc.
What We Offer:
- Equity in the product — clean cap table, fairness and transparency
- Clients and data from day one
- Real-world use case + revenue already happening
- Autonomy and room to shape product + tech
- Option to start part-time, then go deeper
- A lean roadmap and no time wasted on fake traction
Next Steps:
We're open to builders who want to start part-time, and grow into a founding role. If you want to work on something real, smart, and ready to scale — let's talk.
This is for you if:
- You've built software for HR-tech, marketplaces, or similar platforms
- You're wasted as just an employee – you want to build something that matters
- You've got hands-on AI experience and can see its potential in recruitment
- Your English is good (our clients and candidates are primarily native speakers)
- You have a genuine growth mindset and want to build something from the ground upYou can commit real time to this – not just scraps after your day job
- Not for you if:
- You expect a fat co-founder salary from day one
- You're an ego-driven tech bro with zero empathy
- You crumble when things get tough (and they will)
Ready to revolutionize how talent finds their place in the tech world? We're going to be the #1 destination for startups and scaleups looking to hire exceptional talent, and you could be the technical brain behind it.
Let's chat?
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
