Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus Inc. is looking for a friendly Telephone Receptionist to be the welcoming voice of our practice. We are a multi-location practice, and this role does service all office locations for scheduling and call transfers. The location to report to is our Cranberry Twp., PA branch. Primary Responsibilities:
- Answer inbound calls in a professional and courteous manner
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using EHR software
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, referrals, and general office information
- Accurately collect and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Coordinate communication between patients, families, and clinical staff
- Process prescription refill requests and route messages to appropriate providers
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Field emergency calls and perform triage together with the provider on-site to determine urgency of care
Eligibility Requirements:
- Prior experience in a medical or healthcare receptionist or call center role preferred
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) or medical scheduling software
- Strong multitasking ability in a busy, patient-focused environment
- Compassionate and patient demeanor, especially when working with pediatric patients and families
- Knowledge of medical insurance, referrals, and basic billing processes a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required
