About the role
4-Month Contract | Hybrid | Phoenix, Arizona
Position Overview:
We are seeking a 3-5 year experienced Structural Designer to join a multidisciplinary design team supporting advanced technology manufacturing environments, including semiconductor fabrication and support facilities. This position will be responsible for developing conceptual and detailed 2D and 3D structural models, producing construction-ready documentation, and coordinating structural design packages with other disciplines. The successful candidate will also provide leadership for small design packages, coordinate workloads, monitor progress, participate in design reviews, and help ensure that deliverables meet project schedules, quality standards, and client requirements. Location & Work Arrangement 4-month contract Hybrid position Candidates must live within 50 miles of the Phoenix, Arizona office Expected to work in the office at least 2 days per week Reliable high-speed internet service is required for remote work Local Phoenix-area candidates strongly preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed 3D structural models based on engineering direction, verbal instructions, sketches, and design criteria Produce complete structural plans, details, and construction documentation Apply department and client standards consistently across models and drawings Take ownership of assigned design scope and deliver work on schedule Verify the completeness and accuracy of drawings, models, and documentation Coordinate structural design with related engineering disciplines Support other designers and team members as needed Review models and documents for quality, accuracy, and compliance Participate in design coordination and clash resolution Advance design automation capabilities and embrace emerging technologies Small Team Leadership Lead small design packages and guide a small team of designers Assign and coordinate team tasks and balance workloads Monitor progress and ensure deadlines are met Ensure quality standards and clash-adjudicated designs are maintained Lead internal design reviews Participate in cross-discipline and external package reviews Attend project meetings and help resolve design and coordination issues Contribute to a collaborative team environment and maintain a strong Culture of Care
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting or equivalent experience/education Minimum 5 years of structural drafting/design experience Minimum 3 years of Revit experience Strong interpersonal, communication, coordination, and leadership skills
