Pay: $90,000 to $120,000 per year Lead competitive bids on HVAC, plumbing, and process piping projects for a mechanical contractor, with a seat at the table on bid day. Must-Haves 10+ years of mechanical estimating experience in HVAC, plumbing, or industrial systems Proven experience estimating process piping projects Strong knowledge of Design-Build and Plan and Spec delivery methods Proficiency with on-screen takeoff tools, estimating software, and spreadsheets Ability to build accurate, competitive estimates with limited information Strong understanding of Design-Build cost structures Excellent communication with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
What You'll Do: Lead mechanical estimates from pre-bid meetings and scope reviews through final pricing Review bid documents, drawings, and specifications Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using on-screen software Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes for scope and compliance Develop value engineering options that meet client goals Write clear scope narratives to support proposals Present pricing and strategy in bid-day reviews with leadership Manage multiple bid schedules and hit every deadline Support a smooth handoff from estimate to field operations after award Nice-to-Haves Heavy industrial mechanical estimating experience Advanced process piping estimating expertise
