About the role

Our client is looking for a signal processing-focused FPGA Design & Verification Engineer to support the development of tactical communication products. You'll work in a cross-functional team environment designing, verifying, and testing modem/signal processing FPGA firmware for radio communication systems. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong RTL development skills in VHDL and verification experience in SystemVerilog.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyze system requirements and architect FPGA-based processing solutionsImplement complex modem and DSP circuits in programmable logic using FPGA devicesCode firmware designs in VHDL and develop self-checking test benches in SystemVerilogArchitect, implement, and verify complex algorithms in FPGAs and softwareDevelop and maintain FPGA verification and test plans aligned with system requirementsPerform requirements analysis, trade studies, conceptual design, and test activitiesIntegrate FPGA firmware on hardware and support validation activitiesPrepare and present design reviews and technical briefings to internal and external stakeholdersWork cross-functionally to define and refine design requirementsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree + 7 years of FPGA development experience; Master's + 9 years; or 13 years without a degreeExperience developing and verifying FPGA/ASIC-based embedded systemsProficiency in VHDL or Verilog for FPGA/ASIC developmentExperience with SystemVerilog for verificationHands-on experience integrating FPGA firmware on hardwareExperience with FPGA vendor tools (Vivado, Quartus, or Libero) Linux-based development environment experienceEligible to obtain a US Secret Security ClearancePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMATLAB, Simulink, or similar DSP modeling toolsCommunication system signal processing theory and waveform designTCL or Python scriptingMODEM RF design implementation and testingUniversal Verification Methodology (UVM) Vendor-specific FPGA verification tools (Mentor Questa, Visualizer) Active US Government security clearanceSCM tools: SVN, GIT/BitbucketStrong technical writing and communication skills
