About the role
Post Doctoral Scholar - Advanced Characterization Conducts research and development efforts as a Post Doctoral Scholar in the laboratory led by Professor Kang Xu. The Post Doctoral Scholar will focus on research in the area of advanced characterization techniques aiming at revealing new fundamental knowledge that governs the complex behaviors of advanced electrolytes at interfaces and interphases, especially for applications related to batteries. The candidate should be familiar with commonly-sued characterization techniques, while be able to develop innovative ways of applying these techniques to study the liquid structure and interfacial behaviors in advanced electrolytes. The postdoc will prepare and document data resulting from these studies and report to sponsors; prepare research results and reports, conference and journal papers, and technical presentations; assist in mentoring student employees in the laboratory; attend research group and unit meetings; and serve as laboratory manager. In the first year the postdoc scholar will also assist the supervisor to set up the laboratory and acquire new equipment and instruments.

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
