About the role

About the Company: We’re partnering with an enterprise fintech building infrastructure that unifies traditional and tokenized assets into a single operating layer. Its platform enables financial institutions, exchanges, asset managers, trading firms, and fintechs to coordinate complex workflows across asset classes with real-time data, AI, and automation. This is an opportunity to help build core infrastructure for the next generation of financial markets.
About the Role: As a Senior Rust Backend Engineer, you will work across the platform with a high-performing engineering team. You’ll design, architect, and build core and edge services, APIs, and adapters for a scalable, event-driven transaction workflow engine built on an AI-native data model.
Responsibilities: Design and deliver reliable, secure, high-performance software across core and edge services, APIs, adapters, libraries, databases, cryptography, and network communications. Build integrations using messaging and event-driven patterns across smart contracts, blockchains, digital-asset venues, traditional financial rails, and banking systems. Help evolve an AI-native digital-twin model, including rich relationships, state, and financial-ontology graphs that AI systems can query, reason over, and act upon. Bring strong practices around AI coding assistants and agentic tooling, such as Claude Code, Copilot, and Cursor, to improve engineering velocity and code quality. Expand test coverage, automate integration testing, improve observability, and benchmark performance. Apply secure engineering practices throughout the product lifecycle, appropriate for enterprise systems handling money and assets.
Qualifications: 3+ years of hands-on Rust experience across backend architecture, microservices, and container orchestration such as Kubernetes and Docker. Strong experience with gRPC, message queues such as Kafka, distributed computing, and networking fundamentals. Deep familiarity with LLM APIs, including function calling, structured outputs, RAG, tool use, and agentic systems. A practical, thoughtful approach to using AI coding tools: where they accelerate work, where human judgment matters, and how teams should work with them responsibly. Experience with ledgers, settlement, custody, clearing, or core banking is especially valuable. Experience delivering highly available, mission-critical backend systems with strong recovery mechanisms and observability. Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. High ownership, strong craftsmanship, collaborative instincts, and a “find the path forward” mindset.
Nice to have:
  • Experience in crypto, digital assets, banking, payments, or financial infrastructure.
  • Pay range and compensation package
  • Full-time - salary, equity, benefits, and 401(k)
Equal Opportunity Statement We are committed to diversity and inclusivity.
Interview process: Candidates who pass the initial screen will complete a Rust coding challenge of up to 2-3 hours, followed by a short video walkthrough of their approach. If you are interested, please apply or message me directly.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
