Wage Employee - Charlotte General District Court Title: Wage Non-Specified State Role Title: Wage Hiring Range: $13.50/hr Location: Charlotte General District Court Agency Website: www.vacourts.gov Recruitment Type: General Public - G Additional Detail Job Duties The Deputy Clerk is assigned operational responsibilities and ensures the court's instructions are executed and legal papers are prepared with accuracy and in accordance with appropriate policies and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to, preparing detailed court documents in accordance with established guidelines, data entry, answering phone inquiries, assisting at the customer service counter, taking payments, processing mail, scanning case papers into the GDIS system, scheduling matters for court, preparing legal documents, processing copy requests and other documents as needed, filing, and any additional duties as assigned. The selected individual must possess the ability to professionally interact with diverse customers, from attorneys, law enforcement, and various agency staff to the public. The Deputy Clerk must provide excellent, accurate, and informational customer service in person and by phone.
Minimum Qualifications: The most competitive candidates will possess: High School diploma or equivalent required. Most competitive applicants will have business and/or office-related experience. Applicants should be highly organized and possess significant knowledge, skills, and abilities to learn computer software quickly and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
