About the role
- Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- Associate degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program
- Knowledge of current respiratory care practices, therapies, equipment, and clinical standards
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and pulmonary function testing
- Proficiency in the setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting of respiratory equipment, including noninvasive ventilation, home ventilators, cough-assist devices, airway clearance systems, and aerosolized medication delivery devices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, caregivers, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
- Ability to provide patient and caregiver education in a clear, compassionate, and professional manner
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, maintain accurate documentation, and meet established deadlines
- Experience working with patients with neuromuscular disorders or chronic respiratory diseases preferred
- Outpatient clinic experience preferred
