Pay Rate: $19.50/hour
Location: Manteca, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 5:45 AM–2:15
PMPosition Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Embroidery Operator responsible for applying digitized graphics to apparel and other products using single-head and multi-head embroidery machines. This position is responsible for staging products, setting up embroidery equipment, loading specified graphics, stitching designs, performing quality inspections, and making necessary machine adjustments. The ideal candidate has previous embroidery machine experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain quality and productivity standards in a fast-paced production environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: Operate single-head and multi-head embroidery machines to apply digitized graphics to apparel and other products. Follow daily production schedules to ensure customer orders are completed by established production dates. Review Shopworks work orders and attachments to verify product style, color, size, quantity, design, graphic dimensions, thread sequence, thread colors, and placement. Set up embroidery machines with the appropriate graphics and correct thread color sequences. Properly and efficiently hoop garments and prepare products for embroidery. Select appropriate backing, solvy, thread weights, and other materials based on the product and embroidery application. Adjust machine speed, thread tension, and other settings as necessary. Perform a pre-production strike-off for each graphic placement and obtain approval from the Embroidery Lead before beginning production. Monitor embroidery production closely and make adjustments to maintain quality. Perform embroidery techniques including direct embroidery, 3D foam, applique, patch production, trimming, and quality control. Trim excess backing and loose threads from completed products. Inspect finished products for proper graphic placement, thread color, stitching quality, and overall workmanship. Prepare materials and products for upcoming orders to maintain production efficiency. Notify the Embroidery Lead of product shortages, machine malfunctions, maintenance needs, or quality concerns. Troubleshoot production issues and assist with solutions to improve efficiency. Scan completed orders as “Produced” in Shopworks upon completion. Maintain embroidery machines in clean and proper operating condition. Assist with daily preventative maintenance of embroidery equipment. Maintain accurate production records and meet established department productivity standards. Learn and follow applicable FTZ compliance requirements. Become familiar with product construction to understand embroidery opportunities and limitations. Follow all department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Assist with training new Embroidery Department employees as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Properly dispose of used embroidery needles in designated sharps containers. Follow all company safety procedures and requirements. Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications: Previous experience operating embroidery machines required. Previous experience in an embroidery, screen printing, cut-and-sew, or similar production environment preferred. Knowledge of embroidery techniques, garment hooping, backing selection, thread selection, tension adjustment, and graphic placement preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify embroidery and product quality issues. Ability to follow detailed written and verbal production instructions. Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain an efficient workflow. Ability to recognize and resolve production problems using sound judgment. Basic computer and keyboard skills required. Ability to learn and use Shopworks and company ERP systems, including Dynamics AX.Basic math skills for maintaining production records. Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a production team. Ability to meet established production goals while maintaining quality standards.\nCompany
