Control Design Engineer

This is an opportunity to take ownership of automation and controls projects from concept to commissioning from the first design discussions during the bid stage, through PLC programming and electrical design, to standing on the factory floor watching the machine you helped build come to life. You'll be joining a rapidly expanding new division developing advanced machinery for 3D-printed medical devices. You'll lead a small team of experienced Controls Engineers initially, with the scope to help grow the team as the business continues to expand. Responsibilities will include: Program, configure and tune servo drives, developing motion profiles and ensuring machines perform reliably and accurately. Create electrical schematics and enclosure layouts using AutoCAD Electrical (2020-2023 Developing Allen-Bradley PLC programs from a blank page using Studio 5000, Ladder Logic, Configure and develop PanelView and FactoryTalk HMI systems. Lead a team of Controls Engineers initially, with the opportunity to help shape and grow the wider controls engineering team. What you'll bring You'll be an experienced Automation/Controls Engineer who is comfortable getting involved across the full machine-building lifecycle. Experience needed: AutoCAD Electrical experience, ideally versions 2020-2023 Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent real world experience Studio 5000 and Ladder Logic programming experience Experience with CompactLogix and ControlLogix Strong servo drive and motion control experience - ideally Kinetix Strong AutoCAD Electrical skills, ideally versions 2020-2023 A solid understanding of machine safety standards The confidence to take ownership of projects and make engineering decisions independently Leadership experience, or the ambition to step into a genuine technical leadership position #J-18808-Ljbffr
