Job Overview: Santa Fe College is a member of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs and offers both traditional and innovative options in the field of business. Under general supervision, the Adjunct Assistant Professor will develop, prepare, and teach a variety of economics coursework. The Adjunct Assistant Professor must have the flexibility to teach courses during the day, evening, or online, as well as using other distance‑learning formats. Part‑time instructional service will be paid at a rate of $822 per semester credit hour and $32.88 per clock/contact hour. The application deadline is open continuously and for multiple positions. Responsibilities and Duties: Plans, organizes, and delivers instruction to didactic, laboratory, and/or classroom settings to promote student success within a community college setting. Supports and promotes the college and departmental missions centered on excellence in teaching and learning through quality instruction, curriculum enhancement, and timely service. Collaborates with the Director, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum that cultivates mastery of course content. Demonstrates technological literacy and innovation in the delivery of instruction. Works collaboratively as part of a cohesive academic team. Assists with the implementation of college policies, objectives, and functions in accordance with the SF philosophy, mission, strategic initiatives, and procedures. Participates in departmental meetings and collegewide committees as needed. Provides students with frequent, timely assessment and clear feedback regarding academic performance. Appropriately documents student progress and maintains records including attendance, grading, and student learning outcomes. Develops methods that fairly and accurately assess students’ progress in achieving the stated learning outcomes/objectives. Maintains appropriate office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment. Strictly honors the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal, and college regulations, policies, and procedures. Complies with all published College Rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations governing public employees, including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality. Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Master’s degree or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in economics, applied economics, agriculture economics, business, management, administration, or finance. A criminal background check will be conducted. Relevant teaching experience within a community college setting preferred. Relationship management – build and maintain high‑level interactive service and relationships with others. Results orientation – proven ability to set and exceed established targets. Systems and software proficiency – Microsoft Office and/or relevant position software programs. Detail‑oriented – accuracy and meticulous attention to detail. Multi‑tasking – organize, coordinate, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
