About the role
- AI-Assisted Application Engineering·
- Design and develop the prompt-driven application-building experience used by non-technical and semi-technical business users.·
- Translate natural-language business intent into structured requirements, application specifications, data models, user experiences, and implementation artifacts.·
- Develop agentic workflows capable of gathering requirements, identifying ambiguity, asking appropriate follow-up questions, and progressively refining application designs.·
- Integrate Azure-hosted generative AI and LLM capabilities into application-development workflows.·
- Develop structured prompting, context-management, tool-calling, validation, and orchestration patterns.·
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging AI-assisted coding techniques and development tools where they provide meaningful value.·
- Significant professional full-stack software-development experience.· Strong experience with modern web application development and API design.· Strong JavaScript and/or TypeScript experience and familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such as React.· Practical experience using generative AI and AI-assisted software-development tools.· Demonstrable understanding of LLM capabilities, limitations, context management, structured prompting, and tool/function calling.· Strong understanding of application architecture, data modeling, APIs, authentication, authorization, testing, and software-design principles.· Experience with Git-based source control and modern CI/CD practices.· Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure.· Practical understanding of Agile software-development methodologies.· Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into structured technical solutions.· Strong written and verbal English communication skills.· Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with another senior engineer across overlapping areas of responsibility.
- Experience with Azure OpenAI or comparable enterprise generative-AI platforms.· Experience designing agentic applications or multi-agent workflows.· Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, Dataverse, or related low-code technologies.· Experience with Azure DevOps.· Experience creating reusable application frameworks, internal developer platforms, scaffolding systems, or code-generation tools.· Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Key Vault, managed identities, and enterprise authentication patterns.· Experience working within regulated, healthcare, financial, or other security-conscious enterprise environments.· Business analysis, product development, or requirements-engineering experience.· Experience building applications for non-technical users. The Person We Are Looking ForThe strongest candidate will probably be difficult to categorize. You may be a traditional software engineer who has become deeply interested in AI-assisted development. You may have started experimenting with generative AI and discovered that it allows you to build dramatically faster—but also discovered why experienced engineers are still required. You should be comfortable allowing AI to write substantial portions of software while remaining unwilling to trust generated code simply because it compiles. You should be curious, pragmatic, technically rigorous, and comfortable challenging assumptions. Most importantly, you should be excited by the idea of building a development platform whose greatest achievement is making most of its underlying technical sophistication invisible to the person using it.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
