Receiving / Expeditor Job Type: Full-Time; Temp to Hire Contract Pay Range: $29-34 per hour Location: Rockville, MD We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving / Expeditor to coordinate and track materials, parts, and equipment from purchase through receipt. This role works closely with Procurement, Accounts Payable, Operations, Project Management, and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, accurate documentation, and quick resolution of receiving issues.
Key Responsibilities: Track purchase orders, shipments, backorders, and expected delivery dates. Follow up with suppliers to expedite critical materials and equipment. Coordinate with internal teams regarding material priorities and delivery status. Resolve quantity discrepancies, late deliveries, damaged shipments, returns, and specification issues. Coordinate supplier claims, replacements, cancellations, and order modifications. Maintain accurate receiving, return, and credit records in Deltek Costpoint. Review receiving documentation and assist Accounts Payable with invoice discrepancies. Maintain the daily receiving log and ensure all received materials are accurately documented.
Qualifications: Associate degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience. 2+ years of supply chain, purchasing, expediting, or receiving experience. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Deltek Costpoint experience is preferred. Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills. Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Positive, team-oriented approach with a willingness to learn and take direction.
