About the role

About Us: At Horizon Pharmacy in Wapato, we believe that healthcare is deeply personal. We aren't just filling prescriptions; we are looking out for our neighbors, offering a warm smile, and building lasting relationships with the people in the Yakima Valley. We pride ourselves on being a welcoming, accessible, and trusted healthcare hub for our vibrant community, and we treat our team members like family. If you are a pharmacist who is tired of the corporate chain grind and wants to get back to the heart of independent, community-focused care, we would love to welcome you to the Horizon family!
The Role: We are looking for a passionate, empathetic, and dynamic Pharmacy Manager to lead our tight-knit Wapato team. In this role, you won't just be managing inventory and schedules—you will be the face of Horizon Pharmacy, shaping the patient experience and leading a dedicated staff with kindness and integrity. Bilingual Candidates Preferred: The Yakima Valley is wonderfully diverse, and our Wapato community has a significant Spanish-speaking population. While not a strict requirement, candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish are highly encouraged to apply, as this skill helps us truly connect with and provide the best care for all of our neighbors.
What You’ll Do: (Responsibilities) Lead with Heart: Oversee daily operations at our Wapato location, manage a small, dedicated team of technicians, and foster a positive, collaborative, and upbeat work environment. Prioritize Patients: Provide exceptional, personalized medication counseling, administer immunizations, and answer clinical questions with patience and care. Keep Things Running Smoothly: Manage inventory, oversee ordering, and ensure standard operating procedures are met. Ensure Compliance: Maintain accurate records and ensure full compliance with Washington State Board of Pharmacy and federal regulations. Engage the Yakima Valley: Actively look for ways to improve local community health, whether through clinical programs, health education, or building relationships with area providers.
What We’re Looking For: (Qualifications) The Credentials: A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or a PharmD, with an active, unrestricted Washington State Pharmacist license in good standing. The Experience: Previous experience in a retail or independent pharmacy setting. Prior supervisory or management experience is preferred, but a natural leader looking to take the next step is welcome! The Language Skill: Fluency in Spanish is a massive plus and will be utilized daily. The Vibe: Excellent communication skills, a warm and approachable demeanor, and a genuine desire to serve the Wapato community. Why You’ll Love Working at Horizon Pharmacy Work-Life Balance: Say goodbye to grueling corporate chain hours and chaotic 24-hour schedules. We value your time outside of work. A Supportive Environment: You’ll have a real voice here. Your ideas for improving workflow or launching new community initiatives will actually be heard and implemented. Competitive Compensation: We offer a competitive salary, health benefits, paid time off, and retirement options. True Community Impact: You’ll get to know your patients by name and see the direct, positive impact of your work on the health of our local community every single day.
How to Apply: If this sounds like the kind of workplace you’ve been looking for, we’d love to chat. Please submit your resume along with a brief note telling us why you love community pharmacy and why you're a great fit for Horizon Pharmacy in Wapato. Horizon Pharmacy is an equal opportunity employer and celebrates diversity in our community

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
