Ward Clerk - Emergency DeptThe Ward Clerk performs clinical and receptionist duties on assigned unit under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse. He/she also promotes cooperation, a positive attitude and creates a safe environment for both patients and staff. The Ward Clerk is responsible for knowing and adhering to established hospital policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety. This is a temporary opportunity that may end at any time. Job Duties & Essential Functions: Transcribes doctors' orders and accurately communicates this information to appropriate personnel. Maintains and updates patient records as delegated by the Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse or other Nursing leader. Performs clerical functions as needed. Assists with telephone calls and channels information to appropriate person. Other duties as deemed appropriate by Management.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • High School diploma
  • Attention to detail
  • Visual and auditory acuity
  • Primary Location: US-NY-East Hampton Department/Hiring Area: East Hampton Nursing
Schedule: Full-time
Shift: Variable Shift Hours: 9:00 AM5:00 PM with flexibility based on the needs of the department
Salary: $24.80 - $26.67 / Hour
