About the role
Quality Inspector We are hiring a Quality Inspector for our 1st shift for our Watertown, CT site. The Quality Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring that products meet the highest standards of quality and safety in the durable goods manufacturing industry. This position involves conducting inspections, tests, and evaluations of materials and products throughout the production process. The technician will collaborate closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues, thereby enhancing overall operational efficiency. By maintaining accurate records and documentation, the Quality Inspector will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and compliance with industry regulations. Ultimately, this role is vital in delivering high-quality products that meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in a related field preferred.1-2 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment. Proven experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with quality inspection tools and techniques, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and microscopes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in deep draw manufacturing. Experience with CMM or vision inspection systems. Certification in quality control or quality assurance (e.g., CQI, CQT).Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and quality management systems (QMS).Knowledge of ISO 13485 standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
Computer Qualifications:
Experience with 1 Factory or similar software for recording and managing inspection with Quality Management Software platforms for managing inspection plans, documenting nonconformances, and tracking corrective actions. Examples include QT9, Master Control, or ETQ Reliance.
Responsibilities:
Conduct regular inspections and tests on in-process components, to ensure compliance with quality standards. Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of quality control activities. Collaborate with production staff to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions. Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance procedures and protocols. Participate in training sessions to educate team members on quality standards and best practices. Assist in follow-up actions, such as supplier corrective actions (SCARs) or material returns, as necessary.

Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, which are essential for accurately assessing product quality and identifying defects. Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with production teams and clearly conveying quality standards. Familiarity with quality inspection tools will enable the technician to perform precise measurements and skills, such as knowledge of statistical process control, will enhance the technician's ability to analyze data and contribute to process improvements. Overall, these skills are utilized daily to ensure that all products meet the established quality benchmarks and to foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
