About the role

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Logistics Manager to oversee and manage the logistics operations of our client's manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the supply chain. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of logistics in a manufacturing setting, and the ability to optimize processes to support production and delivery schedules.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure timely delivery of materials and products. Manage the inbound and outbound transportation of goods, including vendor coordination and freight optimization. Oversee warehouse operations including inventory control, shipping, receiving, and storage. Collaborate with procurement, production, and customer service teams to support manufacturing schedules and customer requirements. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to identify areas for improvement. Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with freight carriers and third-party logistics providers. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to transportation and storage. Lead, train, and mentor a team of logistics and warehouse staff. Develop and maintain logistics budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of transportation management, inventory systems, and warehouse operations. Proven ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional projects. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices is a plus.
