About the role

Production Manager Our client is seeking an experienced Heavy Industrial Production Manager to lead daily furnace operations in a high-temperature manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving safety, productivity, quality, and operational performance while leading a team in a 24/7 production setting.
Responsibilities: Manage daily furnace production operations to meet safety, quality, and output targets. Lead and develop supervisors, operators, and production personnel. Monitor furnace performance, troubleshoot process issues, and optimize throughput. Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, yield, and cost reduction. Partner with maintenance and engineering teams to maximize equipment reliability and uptime. Track and report key production and operational metrics.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Metallurgy, or related field preferred. Progressively responsible experience in manufacturing operations. Demonstrated technical/mechanical knowledge of Electric Arc Furnace (EAF).Experience in process engineering and continuous improvement programs, such as lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma.6S is a plus Metals, mining, or chemical processing operations preferred. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety regulations, and quality standards. Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance standards. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop subordinates, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement; there will be one supervisor and 30 or so union employees Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proven track record of achieving production targets, improving operational efficiency, and driving results. Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines. ERP and production management systems.
