About the role
Account Manager - Welding Consumables Remote - 50% Travel Welding background? Here's your next career move. Our client, an established global manufacturer of welding products, is growing, and it shows. They just opened an additional plant, they're investing in a new lab, and they've won Tesla, adding to a customer base that already counts GM among their biggest partners. This role is open because of growth too. The current Account Manager was promoted after a leadership retirement moved his manager up. Here, people who do good work move up.
What you'll do:
About 80% of this role is taking care of existing business. You'll be the trusted partner for major automotive and industrial manufacturers, and you'll understand their welding processes as well as they do. Own relationships with existing accounts and build contacts across each customer site, from the plant floor to purchasing. Support customers with technical questions, quotes, samples, and troubleshooting. Find ways to expand business with current customers, and pursue new opportunities directly or through distribution. Work with domestic distribution partners to reach shared long-term goals. Track competitor moves, such as new products, strategy shifts, and target accounts, and bring that intelligence back to the team. Keep the CRM current and meet weekly with the North American Welding Segment Manager to review wins, issues, and the plan for the week ahead.
What you bring:
Hands-on welding background as a welder, welding technician, welding engineer, or similar. You understand how welding products perform in real manufacturing.1–2 years of sales or customer-facing experience. Industrial or automotive sales is a big plus. A bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Marketing, or equivalent hands-on experience. Strong communication skills and a knack for building relationships. You're persistent without being pushy. Self-motivated and organized. You'll manage your own schedule from a home base. Comfortable with CRM software and Microsoft Office.
