About the role
Butler-Cohen Design + Build is seeking a motivated new graduate Project Engineer/Junior Superintendent to join our growing team. This role is ideal for early-career construction professionals looking to gain experience in both project management and field operations while working on impactful commercial construction projects across Texas.
This position provides a unique opportunity to develop a well-rounded understanding of construction by working alongside Project Managers and Superintendents throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Project Management Responsibilities
Assist with project planning, scheduling, and coordination
Manage RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and project documentation
Support procurement activities and subcontractor coordination
Track budgets, costs, and change orders
Assist with estimating and preconstruction efforts
Monitor project schedules and key milestones
Field Operations Responsibilities
Support daily jobsite operations alongside the Superintendent
Participate in safety inspections, toolbox talks, and compliance efforts
Monitor project quality, progress, and site logistics
Coordinate subcontractor activities and field communication
Assist with punch list management and project closeout
Help ensure work is completed safely and according to plans and specifications
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent construction experience)
0-3 years of commercial construction experience
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments
High attention to detail and willingness to learn
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or Primavera P6
Previous internship or commercial construction experience
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Travel & Relocation Requirements
Must be willing to travel and temporarily relocate based on project needs.
Projects are primarily located throughout Texas, with a strong focus on West Texas and Central Texas markets.
Candidates should be flexible and comfortable working on projects outside their home location for extended periods as business needs require.
