About the role

An established, heavy equipment dealership is creating a new enterprise leadership role following the planned retirement of its 55yr. Parts Director. 30th September, 2026
SUMMARY: An established, multi-location heavy equipment dealership is creating a new enterprise leadership role following the planned retirement of its long-tenured Parts leader. This is a chance to build rather than inherit: design the Parts and digital-commerce organization for the next decade, with executive sponsorship, a new dealer management system, and a mandate to make parts availability a competitive advantage. The Director owns enterprise Parts strategy across all branches, manufacturers, and channels, working within a Fleet Operations & Customer Uptime group alongside Service and Rental. The role also leads the Parts workstream of a DMS conversion and launches the company's first Parts e-commerce platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Customer Uptime: Own machine-down events, Parts-delayed work orders, backorders, and proactive customer updates. Inventory & Working Capital: Build a data-driven stocking strategy that improves turns and fill rates while reducing aged stock. E-Commerce: Define the online catalog, pricing rules, ordering workflow, and fulfillment model; drive customer adoption and online revenue. Supplier Performance: Implement OEM and vendor scorecards, lead recovery plans, and maximize rebate and return programs. Warehouse & Logistics: Standardize receiving, transfers, and cycle counts. Financial Ownership: Manage Parts revenue, gross profit, pricing, inventory investment, and budgets. People Leadership: Recruit, develop, and hold accountable a multi-location team while building succession depth. OPPORTUNITIES The bar is measurable. 2027 expectations include enterprise fill rates of at least 80%, building toward 85% or better, inventory turns of 3.0x minimum (3.5x target), 98%+ cycle-count accuracy, and zero Parts-delayed work orders without a recovery plan. Change during transition. You will succeed a leader with decades of institutional knowledge while guiding a system conversion without disrupting daily operations. Built from the ground up. E-commerce does not yet exist, bringing full ownership of its launch and accountability for adoption and revenue. Real upside. Enterprise scope, executive access, and a lasting legacy. WHAT YOU BRING Proven leadership of multi-location Parts, product support, aftermarket, supply-chain, or industrial distribution operations Command of fill rates, demand planning, inventory turns, purchasing, pricing, margin, and working capital Hands-on experience implementing e-commerce, online catalogs, customer portals, or ERP/DMS systems Background with a Cat, Deere, Komatsu, Volvo CE, or similar dealer network, an OEM, or an industrial distributor strongly preferred Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred Leadership traits: customer-uptime mindset, enterprise thinking with operational follow-through, data-driven judgment, urgency, digital curiosity, financial discipline, and integrity.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
