Location: Tukwila, WA (100% Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
Pay Rate: $67/hr on W2
Work Schedule: 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)Position Summaryseeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer 3 to lead and support flight test assembly, planning, and design efforts in Tukwila, WA. This role focuses on supporting flight test design and installation planning for commercial airplane programs (BCA) and commercial derivative aircraft (MS&B).As an owner of the integrated build plan, you will perform Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) analysis, develop detailed work instructions, and ensure compliance with design configuration, test, and program requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Integrated Build Plans: Develop, implement, and maintain integrated build plans, manufacturing plans, Bills of Materials (BOMs), work instructions, and illustrations for assembly and fabrication. DFMA & Producibility: Perform DFMA analysis and lead cross-functional teams in producibility assessments of design concepts. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) alongside Test Project Management, Design Engineering, and Industrial Engineering. Supplier & Procurement Interface: Coordinate with fabrication teams, Supplier Management, and MMO to track part sourcing, shipping, and supplier integration. Process & Tool Development: Establish BT&E ME process improvements, tools, standards, and training materials/tutorials for the planning team. Cost & Schedule Alignment: Prepare build analyses, cost estimates, and complex work statements/sequencing to support program delivery commitments.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry (ABET accreditation preferred) with 5+ years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
Experience: Proven track record in assembly, installation, and manufacturing engineering within aerospace or flight test environments.
Key Skills: DFMA, manufacturing work instructions, BOM creation, supplier integration, and cross-discipline technical integration.
