Job Description: We are seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined Research and Development Technician to join our R&D team. This role involves measuring, inspecting, cycling, disassembling, reassembling, and building dampers. This position requires the applicant to be hands on, detail oriented and mechanically inclined. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in automotive research and development.
What You’ll Do: Measure and document vehicle components to strict engineering standards. Remove and reinstall dampers and suspension-related components. Evaluate vehicles for ride and handling characteristics. Assemble, test, and tune prototype dampers. Work closely with engineers and the PM team to execute new product development projects according to plan. Assist engineers and technicians with vehicle preparation and testing setups. Machine parts using manual lathes and mills to expedite fit-up assemblies. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
Qualifications: What We’re Looking For Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Damper assembly and disassembly experience is a plus. Mechanically inclined with a passion for vehicle dynamics and suspension. Confident using hand and power tools. Strong attention to detail, documentation, and safety. Willingness to learn and follow detailed instructions. Experience operating manual mills and lathes. Basic knowledge of suspension systems and lift kits for trucks, Jeeps, and SUVs. Previous experience in an automotive or hands-on technical environment. As part of our R&D team, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience in a collaborative and innovative environment.
