About the role
Overview/ Job ResponsibilitiesPosition is contingent upon contract award and funding. We are seeking a Commercial SATCOM SME to support the US Space Force, Space Operations Command (SpOC), Space Delta 8. Space Delta 8 is the SATCOM war-fighting lead for the US Space Force and leads the operation, maintenance, and modernization of the Wideband Global SATCOM System (WGS) with points of presence located at multiple sites CONUS and OCONUS, providing the day-to-day operational support needed to manage DoD's satellite communications capabilities. The Commercial SATCOM SME will be developing, planning, operating, controlling, and/or managing military or commercial SATCOM systems and software. Examples of such systems and software include, but are not limited to the following:DoD Teleports and GatewaysService Teleports and GatewaysCommercial Teleports and GatewaysSatellite Communications Operations Centers and/or Watch OfficesMobile User Objective System (MUOS)Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS)MILSTAR/AEHFCommercial SATCOM satellites and constellationsCommercial SATCOM planning and management softwareJoint SATCOM Management and Planning System (JSMPS)Joint Integrated SATCOM Tool (JIST)Joint SATCOM Management Enterprise (JSME)Enterprise Management and Control (EM&C)SATCOM Ordering, Management & Situational Awareness Tools (SSOMSAT)Joint Spectrum Interference Resolution (JSIR)Satellite Database – Management Tool (SDB-MT)Salary range: $120,000.00 - $170,000.00Minimum QualificationsUS Active Top Secret (or TS/SCI) level clearance (eligible for immediate adjudication by the cognizant security authority)Bachelor's degreeMinimum 10 years experience with providing SATCOM transmissions control, operations technical support, and analysis servicesExpertise in commercial satellite constellation and commercial ground station equipment. Knowledge of operation and maintenance of space, SATCOM, airborne, and terrestrial networks. Experience in systems engineering related field with a specialization in satellite communications, information technology, or electrical engineering.
