About the role
- Processing Payroll alongside Payroll team. Employee support – Respond to and resolve employee inquiries effectively and efficiently.
- Tax Return preparation, review and reconciliation
- Investigating, responding to and resolving tax agency notices and inquires
- Employee support – Respond to and resolve employee inquiries
- Supporting other dept sub-units as well as Accounting, Tax and Senior Management
- QualificationsExperience/Qualifications/Education Required 5+ years of experience in Payroll, HR, Benefits, and Payroll Tax across multiple industries, including multi-state U.S. payroll processing.
- Experience processing Canadian payroll and knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, taxes, and year-end reporting (T4s, ROEs, provincial requirements) is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Active member of Payroll
- Org (formerly the American Payroll Association) and participation in a local payroll chapter preferred.
- Payroll certifications and ongoing continuing education in payroll, tax, and compliance.
- Recent experience with ADP Workforce Now is strongly preferred.
- Extensive experience with payroll tax preparation, reconciliation, agency notice resolution, and tax compliance.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical abilities with a proven track record of accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally at all levels of the organization.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data analysis functions.
