Job Description: Lead efforts to optimize polymer manufacturing processes, including extrusion and material compounding operations. Troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment challenges, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions. Develop and maintain process documentation, manufacturing procedures, production routings, and bills of materials. Provide technical leadership for engineering projects focused on manufacturing performance, product development, and operational excellence. Collaborate with production, quality, and operations teams to improve safety, efficiency, throughput, and product quality. Support cost analysis, pricing evaluations, and manufacturing feasibility assessments for new and existing product lines. Train and mentor manufacturing personnel on best practices, process controls, and operational standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, statistical methods, and process optimization techniques. Partner with internal stakeholders and customers to deliver innovative manufacturing solutions. The Successful Applicant A successful Process Engineer should have: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.5+ years of experience within plastics, polymer, or advanced materials manufacturing environments. Hands-on experience with extrusion, compounding, or related polymer processing technologies. Strong understanding of process development, scale-up, manufacturing optimization, and statistical process control. Experience using CAD software, preferably SolidWorks. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Knowledge of tooling design, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and process validation methodologies. Experience supporting cost modeling, quoting, and manufacturing planning is highly desirable. Strong project management and technical leadership capabilities. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams.
