About the role
- Leads and mentors junior staff and supports professional development across the team
- Manages environmental consulting projects from proposal through project closeout
- Serves as the primary client contact for assigned projects
- Maintains and expands client relationships and business opportunities
- Manages project budgets, profitability, invoicing, and collections
- Reviews and approves project change orders and budgeting adjustments
- Schedules, trains, and oversees technical staff assigned to projects
- Coordinates project staffing and resource allocation
- Oversees multiple projects simultaneously and ensures successful project execution
- Reviews and approves proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates
- Prepares and reviews environmental reports, analyses, and recommendations
- Conducts senior-level reviews of project deliverables before Principal review
- Leads client meetings and project discussions
- Supports staffing decisions in collaboration with department leadership
- Provides guidance on technical, operational, and project management issues
- Performs additional project leadership and technical duties as assigned
- Performs Phase I Environmental Site Assessments independently as an Environmental Professional
- Reviews Phase I ESA reports prepared by junior staff
- Oversees project scheduling, execution, reporting, and closeout
- Communicates project findings and recommendations to clients and Principals
- Performs detailed technical reviews of reports and conclusions#LI-CS1Qualifications
- 5 years of related experience
- Bachelor's and/or Master's of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Natural or Environmental Science, Geology, or other degree relevant to the practice of Environmental Consulting
- Must have the ability to obtain a local license through reciprocity within three months of hire date
- Additional licensure or certifications may be required depending on the type of work performed
- Extensive knowledge of environmental principles, regulations, and consulting practices
- Extensive knowledge of permitting requirements and environmental investigation methodologies
- Excellent project management and consulting skills
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities
- Strong financial management and budgeting skillsAbility to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
- Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to review and evaluate technical work produced by others
- Strong business development and client growth capabilities
- If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
