Senior Project Manager ($143K–$150K+)Scout is partnering with a family-owned design-build construction platform based in Metro Detroit to deliver mission-critical facilities, including automotive testing, defense-adjacent infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, data centers, and lab/R&D, on projects ranging from $50M to $150M+. This is a company with serious momentum and a national expansion underway, adding senior leadership to help scale it.Compensation & LogisticsBase salary: $143K–$150K+Project-based performance bonus opportunityVehicle or truck allowance, plus per diem and travel supportBased in Metro Detroit, with regular project site presence and travel as the platform grows nationallyThe RoleFull P&L ownership of a single large-scale, technically complex project at a time, not a spread portfolioOwn the complete lifecycle: design development, preconstruction, buyout, construction execution, commissioning, closeout, and warrantyOperate in a true design-build capacity: this team's leaders work directly with the design side, not just alongside it, often running both the construction team and the design effort on a projectDeliver in a fast-track environment, where drawings are frequently released in phases as construction proceeds. The schedule is a tool to drive to, not a document to wait onWhat You'll Work OnAutomotive testing and R&D environments, including dynamometer and test cell facilities and anechoic chambersDefense-adjacent and advanced manufacturing facilitiesData centers, lab, cleanroom, and technical research environmentsWhat You Bring8–10+ years of progressive commercial or industrial construction project management experience, with full P&L ownership on complex projectsTechnical fluency across civil, MEP, and process systems: a background spanning design, estimating, and construction, not construction aloneComfort operating in a design-build capacity; experience running or closely partnering with a design team is a strong plusBachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering preferred; Construction Management also welcome. Candidates from an architectural or engineering background are encouraged to applyFluency in CPM scheduling and predecessor logicWillingness to travel as projects expand outside MichiganOSHA 30, PMP, DBIA, or LEED AP a plus, not required
