About the role

Quality Control AssociateThe Quality Control Associate is responsible for ensuring that all control panels and assemblies produced within the Ascend Automation & Controls panel shop meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This role performs inspections, testing, and documentation throughout the build process to ensure adherence to engineering specifications, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards such as UL508A and NEC.
Key Responsibilities: Perform in-process and final inspections of control panels, wiring, and components to ensure compliance with drawings, schematics, and specificationsConduct electrical testing including continuity checks, point-to-point verification, voltage checks, and functional testingSupport and/or execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for completed panels prior to shipmentIdentify, document, and communicate non-conformances, defects, and rework requirementsVerify component installation, labeling, wire routing, and termination qualityEnsure compliance with UL508A, NEC, and internal QA/QC standardsMaintain accurate inspection records, test reports, and quality documentationCollaborate with panel builders, engineers, and supervisors to resolve quality issues and improve processesAssist in developing and maintaining quality procedures, checklists, and inspection criteriaPromote and adhere to shop safety standards and best practicesQualifications 2+ years of experience in quality control, electrical assembly, or control panel fabricationAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawingsFamiliarity with industrial control panels, PLC systems, and instrumentationWorking knowledge of UL508A standards preferredExperience using electrical test equipment (multimeter, megger, continuity tester, etc.)Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workAbility to identify problems and support root cause analysis and corrective actionsPreferred QualificationsAssociate degree or technical certification in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related fieldExperience in an EPC, automation, or panel fabrication environmentExposure to AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar toolsKnowledge of quality systems, audits, and continuous improvement practicesPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods in a shop environmentAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work with tools and equipmentComfortable working around energized equipment (with proper safety procedures)
