About the role
About the Opportunity:
A growing advanced manufacturing organization is seeking a Quality Engineer / Quality Manager to oversee and continuously improve its Quality Management System (QMS). This individual will play a key role in driving quality initiatives, supporting audits, managing quality metrics, and ensuring compliance throughout the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS).Manage internal audit programs to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
Create, track, analyze, and report quality metrics, including on-time delivery, nonconformances, supplier quality, and other key performance indicators.
Ensure inspection equipment and quality processes meet established standards.
Develop and maintain inspection reports, records, and supporting documentation.
Conduct root cause investigations and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to resolve quality issues.
Lead quality planning efforts and translate customer requirements into quality procedures and activities.
Prepare quality plans, procedures, and schedules to support compliance and operational objectives.
Support customer, supplier, and third-party audits.
Provide training and guidance on quality procedures and best practices.
Maintain accurate documentation related to quality control and assurance activities.
Ensure compliance with company quality policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.3-5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Quality Management.
Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Preferred:
Experience with inspection, quality control, and quality assurance methodologies.
Familiarity with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality standards.
Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools.
Experience using precision measuring equipment and inspection instruments.
Manufacturing or industrial production environment experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to visually inspect parts, assemblies, and documentation. Ability to distinguish detail in technical documents and product features. Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks. Frequent standing and movement throughout production areas. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Successful completion of any required vision examinations.
