Willing to License: No Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Internal Medicine Physician to join a well-established hospitalist team in Rome, NY. This is a full-time, permanent night shift position offering a balanced 7-on/7-off schedule with no on-call responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be board eligible in Internal Medicine and committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care to a manageable census of approximately 5?10 patients per night. Perform admissions from the emergency department and direct admissions, including thorough histories, physical exams, and diagnostic assessments. Manage acute medical conditions, including ICU patients, with 24/7 intensivist support for complex cases. Document all clinical encounters in the Paragon EMR system in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards. Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, case managers, and ancillary teams to ensure coordinated and effective patient care. Develop and implement safe and efficient discharge plans, including follow-up care and medication reconciliation. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and ensure smooth handoffs between day and night teams. Engage in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital policies and medical staff bylaws. Mentor residents, students, or advanced practice providers as applicable. Demonstrate professionalism, sound clinical judgment, and excellent communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
