About the role
- Environment of care rounds.
- Review of sterilization and disinfection practices.
- New practice site visits and data collection for assigning risk assessment scores.
- Participation in Infection Control Risk Assessments (ICRA) reviews.
- Under direction of Infection Preventionist, provide education and in-services to staff.
- Under direction of Infection Preventionist leader, monitors and evaluates patient care activities to identify methods, techniques, equipment, supplies, new products or specific procedures which may constitute an infection risk.
- Assists with investigations of clusters of infection in collaboration with a lead Infection Preventionist.
- Participates in infection prevention policy development, review, and revision using current standards of practice.
- Participates in development and provision of in-service programs related to Infection Prevention for the organization in collaboration with lead Infection Preventionist.
- Supports educational activities for Infection Prevention liaison committees.
- Participates in assigned organization-based committees as appropriate.
- Monitors and evaluates patient care activities to identify methods, techniques, equipment, supplies, new products or specific procedures which may constitute an infection risk.
