Job Description
Key responsibilities:
- General counseling: Provide individual, family, and group sessions addressing a broad range of presenting concerns (anxiety, depression, adjustment, relationships, stress, and life transitions).· Crisis response: Offer timely crisis intervention and safety planning for clients in acute distress.· Group facilitation: Design and facilitate psychoeducational and support groups that promote skills, resilience, and connection.· Care coordination: Collaborate with primary care, school personnel, community organizations, and other providers to ensure seamless, client-centered care.· Documentation: Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with ethical, legal, and organizational standards; complete notes promptly.· Psychoeducation and resources: Teach practical coping strategies and connect clients with relevant community resources.· Community engagement: Participate in community-based initiatives (e.g., outreach events, presentations, brief screenings) that expand access to care.· Grief support as a plus: Apply grief counseling approaches when appropriate to support clients experiencing loss and major life changes.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
Licensure: LCSW (required)
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general counseling practice; grief/bereavement experience preferred but not required.
Technical skills: Proficiency with electronic health records (e.g., TherapyNotes or similar).
Core competencies:
Strong clinical formulation, trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and excellent interpersonal communication. Group experience: Experience facilitating groups is a plus.
Work style:
Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently in a per diem/as‐needed capacity.
Language skills: Bilingual abilities are a plus given our community focus however, not mandatory.
Additional requirements
Schedule: Flexible, including potential evenings and/or weekends based on client need.
Compensation: Competitive per diem rate commensurate with experience.
