Role Description: This full-time Dog Walker role is an on-site position based in Fairland, IN. The Dog Walker will provide safe, attentive, and compassionate walking services for dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Daily responsibilities include following individualized walking schedules, monitoring dog behavior, ensuring proper leash handling, and maintaining a clean and safe environment during walks and transitions. The role also involves basic pet care tasks such as providing fresh water, observing for signs of stress or illness, and reporting any concerns to supervisors or pet guardians. The Dog Walker will communicate professionally with clients, follow company guidelines, and accurately document services provided and any notable incidents.
Qualifications: Demonstrated skills in Animal Care and Pet Care, with a focus on safety, comfort, and well-being. Knowledge of Dog Behavior, including reading body language and responding appropriately to different temperaments. Experience or interest in Dog Training principles, such as positive reinforcement and basic obedience. Strong Communication skills to interact clearly and respectfully with clients, team members, and supervisors. Ability to walk and handle multiple dogs safely, including in varying weather and outdoor conditions. Reliability in time management, adherence to schedules, and accurate record-keeping of services. Comfort with working on-site in Fairland, IN, including local travel between client locations as needed. Prior experience in professional pet services, animal shelters, or veterinary environments is beneficial. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in animal care are a plus.
