About the job: QSE7, a Pennsylvania-based consulting firm, is seeking a Project Manager with project portfolio management (PPM) experience for a full-time contract engagement with a global pharmaceutical client. The client's supply chain organization runs a large portfolio of projects, including technology transfers and new component supplier qualification, and is transforming how that portfolio is governed. The initial contract term is twelve months, full-time, with potential for extension.
Job Responsibilities: Support the design and rollout of new project portfolio management processes, standards and systems for the supply chain portfolio. Run portfolio governance, bringing projects back for review and re-approval when scope, schedule or cost changes. Help define roles, responsibilities and the organizational structure of the portfolio management function. Support implementation and adoption of PPM tools (such as Planisware) and portfolio reporting. Align cross-functional stakeholders, including portfolio leaders, functional leaders, site managers and executing teams. Prepare clear, concise slides, minutes and decision logs for director and VP-level audiences. Track portfolio health across budgets, schedules, risks and dependencies, and report to leadership. Simplify complex processes into clear, workable steps, and drive training and adoption. Manage individual supply chain projects as needed.
Qualifications: Required 5+ years of project management experience in life sciences (pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device). Candidates without life sciences experience will not be considered. Demonstrated experience in project portfolio management: intake, prioritization, stage-gate governance and portfolio reporting. Experience standing up new processes, systems or organizational structures as part of a transformation. Program-level experience leading cross-functional teams across multiple functions or sites. Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting to director and VP-level leaders. Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
  • Pharmaceutical supply chain project experience, such as technology transfer, supplier qualification or manufacturing site projects.
  • Experience with PPM tools such as Planisware, Microsoft Project Online, Clarity or Service
  • Now SPM.Based on the East Coast or able to work Eastern time hours; Greater Philadelphia area a plus.
  • PMP or equivalent certification.
  • A track record of simplifying complex processes and problems.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
