About the role
- Move and transport material throughout the facility using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment
- Unload inbound trucks and store material in designated locations
- Pick, package, and prepare customer orders for outbound shipment
- Load trucks with finished orders, ensuring proper securement to prevent shifting or damage in transit
- Pick and stage material to support production equipment and scheduling needs
- Safely rig, lift, and secure steel products using appropriate methods and equipment
- Verify material type, stock size, dimensions, and quantities prior to movement
- Work with supervisors and team members to meet production and shipping schedules
- Qualifications & Skills
- Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or similar equipment preferred
- Ability to read and interpret basic work orders or material documentation
- Ability to use a tape measure or other measuring devices
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, and/or climb for extended periods (8+ hours per shift)
- Ability to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors
