8:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday Prime Time for Kids is committed to providing a supportive and collaborative environment where educators can make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children and their families. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting preschool students with special needs and creating a positive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide individualized and group instruction aligned with students' IEP goals and objectives. Develop and implement weekly lesson plans using age-appropriate curriculum and monthly themes. Create and maintain a positive classroom environment that supports students' cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioral needs. Supervise students and provide direction and support to Teaching Assistants and Teacher's Aides. Monitor student progress and prepare quarterly or trimester progress reports. Complete annual summaries of student progress and participate in educational assessments as needed. Maintain accurate student attendance, health checks, and required documentation, including CPSE Portal records. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and participate in parent conferences and annual review meetings. Collaborate with families, related service providers, and school district personnel. Utilize technology, including Google Classroom and Google Meet, to support family communication and virtual instruction when needed. Maintain confidentiality and comply with all agency policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Valid New York State Special Education Teacher Certification (PreK-12 or Birth-2).Knowledge of special education requirements and practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and colleagues. Proficiency with computers and relevant educational software. Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
