Salary: $90,000–$115,000 + Company Vehicle + Gas CardAre you an experienced Building Automation Technician looking for your next opportunity in South Florida? We are working with a building automation contractor looking to add a skilled technician to its team, supporting a range of small to medium-sized commercial projects across the Miami and Fort Lauderdale areas. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on controls professional who enjoys working across installation, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and service. Experience with Johnson Controls would be particularly beneficial, although candidates with experience across other building automation control platforms are encouraged to apply.
The Role: Install, configure, commission, and service Building Automation Systems (BAS) across commercial properties. Work on small to medium-sized building automation projects throughout Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Program and configure building controls, controllers, sensors, and related field devices. Troubleshoot system faults and diagnose issues with HVAC controls and building management systems. Carry out system testing, commissioning, and performance optimisation. Work with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to ensure successful project delivery. Read and interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications. Support the integration of HVAC equipment and building management systems. Provide technical support and maintain strong relationships with customers on site. Ensure all work is completed safely and to the required technical standards.
The Ideal Candidate: Previous experience as a Building Automation Technician, Controls Technician, or HVAC Controls Technician. Experience working with Johnson Controls systems is highly desirable. Open to candidates with experience on other controls platforms, including Siemens, Honeywell, Tridium Niagara, Schneider Electric, or Distech Controls. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, building controls, and BMS/BAS architecture. Experience with controls installation, troubleshooting, commissioning, and service. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and control schematics. Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach. A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to projects throughout South Florida. What's on Offer?$90,000–$115,000 annual salary, depending on experience. Company vehicle. Gas card.
