Project Manager – Federal Construction
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Travel: Regular travel to project sites, including Rapid City, SD
Salary: $95,000–$140,000 + 15% project completion bonus
Schedule: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, approximately 45–50 hours/week
About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Project Manager – Federal Construction to oversee large-scale DOD construction projects supporting the B-21 Raider mission at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, SD.You’ll take over 2–3 projects with a combined value of approximately $157M, with a structured handoff from the existing project team. Projects Include$59M Environmental Protection Structure$52M Environmental Protection Structure$46M Maintenance Unit renovation and addition
Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects from pre-construction through closeout
  • Oversee budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, permits, and change orders
  • Lead project meetings and coordinate with project teams
  • Monitor quality, safety, and project progress
  • Work directly with government representatives and project stakeholders
Qualifications:
  • General contractor experience required
  • Federal, DOD, USACE, or military construction experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of construction documents, scheduling, budgets, and contracts
  • Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and subcontractor management
  • Microsoft Office experience required
  • Bluebeam and construction management software experience preferred
  • Willingness to travel as needed
