Role Description:
The DDG 1000 IT/EW Instructor is a full-time, on-site role located in San Diego. This role is responsible for delivering classroom and hands-on instruction on DDG 1000 information technology (IT) systems (TSCE/Linix)) and electronic warfare (EW) capabilities (SLQ 32) to Navy personnel and other authorized learners. Day-to-day tasks include preparing lesson plans, updating course materials, conducting training sessions, evaluating learner performance, and providing technical guidance on system operations and troubleshooting. The instructor will collaborate with curriculum developers and subject matter experts to ensure course content remains current with platform updates, policies, and emerging technologies. The role also includes maintaining training equipment, documenting instructional activities, and supporting training exercises that reinforce operational readiness and compliance with applicable standards.
Qualifications:
SECRET Clearance Strong Information Technology skills, including experience with networked systems, cybersecurity fundamentals, and system administration. Demonstrated Training, Teaching, or Instructional experience, with the ability to facilitate classroom and practical exercises for adult learners. Experience with E-Learning platforms and tools, including delivery of blended or computer-based training. Proficiency with Windows operating systems and related software commonly used in technical training environments. Prior experience with Navy or maritime combat systems, electronic warfare, or DDG-class shipboard systems is highly beneficial. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly. Ability to work on-site in the San Diego Metropolitan Area, collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, and adapt to evolving mission requirements. Relevant certifications or education in IT, instruction, or defense systems (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, military instructor qualification) are preferred.
