About the role
Plant Operations Manager (Poultry)📍 Central California | Relocation Assistance AvailableA well-established and highly respected food manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Plant Operations Manager to lead a large-scale poultry processing operation. This leadership role will oversee approximately 350 employees across production, maintenance, warehousing, distribution, sanitation, safety, and quality functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational performance, food safety, employee engagement, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with USDA regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all day-to-day plant operations for a large poultry processing facility. Drive a culture of employee safety, food safety, accountability, and operational excellence. Oversee production, maintenance, sanitation, warehousing, distribution, quality, and safety functions. Develop and execute short- and long-term operational strategies. Manage plant budgets, staffing plans, labor utilization, and cost improvement initiatives. Partner with leadership teams across Live Operations, Engineering, HR, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance. Ensure compliance with USDA, HACCP, SSOP, and applicable regulatory requirements. Build organizational depth through coaching, mentoring, and leadership development. Support capital projects, process improvements, and future growth initiatives. Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on productivity, yield, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience within the poultry industry. Current or recent experience as a Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Complex Manager, Assistant Complex Manager, or similar leadership role. Ready-to-Eat (RTE) poultry processing experience required. Strong knowledge of USDA, HACCP, SSOP, and food safety programs. Demonstrated experience managing large teams within a manufacturing environment. Strong financial acumen including budgeting, labor management, and cost analysis. Exceptional leadership, communication, and team development skills. Why Consider This Opportunity?
