Role Description:
The Director of Housekeeping is a full-time, on-site role located in Paso Robles, CA, responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and team members. This role manages housekeeping and laundry staff, including hiring, scheduling, training, and performance management, while promoting a positive, service-focused culture. Day-to-day responsibilities include inspecting guest rooms and public spaces for quality and cleanliness, monitoring inventory and ordering supplies, and maintaining standards aligned with brand and company expectations. The Director of Housekeeping collaborates closely with the front office and maintenance teams to address guest needs, room readiness, and service issues, and responds promptly to guest feedback to support high satisfaction scores. The role also involves managing departmental budgets, controlling labor and supply costs, enforcing safety and cleanliness protocols, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, staff training, scheduling, and performance management. Candidates should possess a commitment to guest satisfaction and customer service, with the ability to handle feedback professionally and maintain high service standards. Candidates should possess experience with housekeeping operations and laundry processes, including cleaning procedures, use of equipment, and inventory management. Candidates should possess budgeting and cost-control skills, with experience managing departmental expenses, labor, and supplies. Additional beneficial qualifications include prior leadership experience in hotel housekeeping, knowledge of brand standards, familiarity with safety and sanitation regulations, and proficiency with housekeeping or property management systems. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a hospitality-related degree or certification is preferred. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays are also important.
