About the role
Light Equipment Operator Operates light equipment in order to construct and maintain street and drainage systems.
Reports to: Street Crew Leader and Street Superintendent
Other: Has contact with other City employees and the general public
Essential Job Functions:
Performs manual labor; Assists with construction and maintaining street and drainage systems; Operates light equipment including, but not limited to, trucks, mowers, weed-eaters, chainsaw, and brush chipper; and Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of the safe operation of motorized equipment as it relates to the Texas Motor Vehicle Code; and Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; Must be able to obtain a valid Texas commercial drivers' license (CDL) Class B within 12 months
Working Conditions:
Works outdoors in varied weather conditions. Work may be performed in rough terrain. Work schedule shall include evening, weekends, and holiday hours. Sitting, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, and lifting required. Will be subject to random drug screening.

Selected candidate must possess and maintain a valid Texas Class C Drivers' License as the incumbent shall be appointed to drive a City vehicle during the performance of his/her duties.
