The role will partner closely with the Commercial, Science and Product teams and other cross-functional leaders to support Oura as the company grows and scales.The ideal candidate is a seasoned transactional healthcare attorney with substantial in-house and law firm experience counseling and negotiating complex commercial healthcare sales and partnerships. In addition to healthcare expertise, the right candidate will have experience negotiating government contracts. The successful candidate will bring strong judgment, credibility with senior stakeholders, and the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable guidance in a fast-paced, evolving environment.What you'll doReview, draft and negotiate complex healthcare partnership and government contract deals as the lead attorney supporting the Commercial Healthcare and Government Contracting functions of the business.Counsel and advise stakeholders on legal issues impacting the business, ensuring alignment, efficiency, and excellence in execution of all healthcare transactions and government contractsServe as a strategic thinker who operates to shape company-wide risk strategy while driving key initiatives and applying a solutions-focused approachOperate as a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves practitioner, comfortable managing complex transactionsBuild and refine internal transactional processes, policies, and tools that can scale efficiently with company growthAct as a trusted advisor to senior executives, providing clear, business-oriented judgment and actionable recommendationsPreferred location is San Francisco Bay Area, remote candidates will be considered.RequirementsWe would love to consider you for this role if you have:Has 8-10 years combined law firm and in-house experience, with at least 4 years of experience as a dedicated transactional healthcare attorney and at least 2 years of government contracting experienceDeep working knowledge of U.S. healthcare regulatory frameworks, including HIPAA/HITECH, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and the Physician Self-Referral Law (Stark), and the ability to apply them pragmatically to business objectivesExceptional drafting skills, including experience negotiating and preparing sophisticated commercial, clinical and strategic healthcare agreementsand government contractsExperience advising on government contracting matters, including agreements involving federal and state agenciesProven ability to identify and mitigate regulatory risk while enabling scalable, innovative healthcare business modelsStrong judgment and comfort operating as a trusted advisor to senior business stakeholders in a fast-moving environmentClear, practical communicator who can translate complex legal issues into actionable guidanceJ.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and current active license to practice law in CaliforniaExcels at working in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentBenefitsAt Oura, we care about you and your well-being.
