Software Developer, Investment Operations. 115k to 135k base, small bonus Boston Financial District, Hybrid ONLY, NOT Remote Compensation Commensurate with experience, bonus, benefits, EOE, diverse highly educated culture. Summary: · The Software Developer will focus on developing, enhancing, and supporting proprietary Strategic Applications for the investment operations team. The ideal candidate will enjoy working directly with business users to create and enhance current tools, in a dynamic, fast-paced, best practices investment environment. · The position offers a wide range of exposure to asset management technology including security reference, asset pricing, complex securities, collateral management, corporate actions, trade settlement, portfolio accounting, and vendor reconciliation. · The role has significant growth opportunities within an experienced and mature team.
Responsibilities: · Requirements gathering, consensus building, head-down development, vendor product integration, and transition management. · Use of vendor APIs, structured programming & task management, unit & integration testing, as well as reporting.· Develop and maintain a proprietary set of tools to support client's operational workflows. Build, enhance & support strategic proprietary tools, as a primary role. Facilitate integration testing of 3rd party tools & data, as demand requires. Provide tactical support of business-oriented services, as a secondary role. Manage daily morning production process to establish the start-of-day trade-ready state. Applying a formal development approach to this critical production environment is an underlying tenet.
Qualifications: Strong business analysis capabilities, and excellent application development & database skills. Experience with Git or other source code control systems is required. Experience in the financial services industry a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft-based technologies, including strong SQL skills, is required. Knowledge of, and experience with C# is required. Knowledge of Agile development methodologies preferred. Energized by a fast-paced environment, yet able to be methodical & deliberate. Ability to troubleshoot & problem-solve, and is detail driven. Ability to manage multiple tasks at once. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Works well in a collaborative team environment. An undergraduate degree in computer science or a related field, with at least 3 years of Application Development experience is strongly preferred; relevant experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
