About the role
Job Description:
This role is responsible for monitoring and inspecting steel products and processes to ensure they meet internal quality standards and customer specifications. Day-to-day tasks include performing quality checks and measurements, documenting inspection results, conducting root-cause analyses on nonconformities, and supporting corrective and preventive actions. The role also involves coordinating and leading quality audits, training production staff on quality procedures, and collaborating with operations to improve processes and reduce defects. The Quality Technician/Supervisor may oversee a small team of quality personnel, assign inspection tasks, and help maintain compliance with company policies and relevant industry standards.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated proficiency in Quality Control and Quality Assurance to ensure products and processes meet defined standards.
Strong Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify trends, and support problem-solving in production environments.
Experience with Quality Auditing, including internal audits and documentation of findings and follow-up actions.
Knowledge of Quality Management principles and systems to support continuous improvement and process consistency.
Prior experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, preferably in metals or steel processing.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and measurement reports.
Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Comfort with using measurement tools and basic software (e.g., spreadsheets, quality tracking systems).
Ability to work on-site, stand for extended periods, and safely navigate a production floor in compliance with safety procedures.
Relevant technical certification or associate/bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering) is beneficial.
2 years of experience in a related field such as metal processing, manufacturing or Quality Management is a plus.
