Librarian Qualifications: Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an accredited college or university Valid Texas school librarian certificate or endorsement OR Literacy Media Specialist Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited university Valid Texas Teacher certification Must be enrolled in a Master's degree in Library Science program through a Texas-accredited university with a deficiency plan, OR If you already have a Master's degree, enrolled in the School Library Certification program, 6 hours at a Texas-accredited university Must pass the School Librarian's TExES (Texas Examination of Educator Standards) after completing a Master's in Library Science degree or School Library certificate requirements, within three (3) years upon entering into the position Minimum of two (2) years of classroom experience Please see attached Job Descriptions for more information.
